Today I turn 43

Hi Reader

Today I turn 43.

Yesterday, on my last day of being 42, I took some time to reflect on what this year has taught me.

I feel clearer now on what I really value: peace, health, and purpose.
How I feel in my body.
How I show up in my work.
How much capacity I have for the people and things I care about.

This year taught me a lot.

It taught me that sometimes being told no is exactly what you need to find a better path forward. One that gives you more ownership, more independence, and more alignment than the first version ever could.

It taught me that the road does not need to be straight for it to be right. That I can trust the process even when I cannot see the full picture yet.

It taught me that teaching the next generation of marketers matters more than ever right now. That AI can support us, but it cannot replace the depth of thinking, judgment, and lived experience that makes our work valuable.

It taught me what it looks like when someone you love creates a different experience for the next generation. When family patterns do not have to repeat. When healing is possible.

And it taught me to listen to my body more deeply. To respond with discipline and intention. To meet this stage of life with maturity, care, and consistency.

So as I step into 43, I feel grateful. I feel stronger. I feel more grounded in what matters most.

I shared the full reflection on Instagram yesterday if you want to read it.

Here's to another year of growth, trust, and showing up with purpose.

Do not outsource your thinking to AI

Hi [First name], I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately: Writing consistently builds real skill and resonance. Authenticity is the new advantage as AI rises. A few grounded truths I keep coming back to: Don’t outsource your thinking. Use AI to clear your plate, not replace your creativity or intuition. Most people don’t actually want AI‑generated content. Doubling down on you strengthens your brand. 52 reps vs 0 reps Picture two people sending a newsletter every week for a year. Person A...

MFWF Baker's Dozens 2026

Hi [First name], I took one week off from your inbox. And somehow Melbourne packed in a Food and Wine Festival, a rock cabaret and the start of my 3rd new company of 2026 into the gap. I'm blaming Mad March — and the energy of a brand new cohort of strategic marketing students at RMIT who reminded me exactly why I love teaching. Why MFWF sells out in minutes while restaurants fight for bums on seats The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival has concluded and I've been to Taxi Kitchen and Carnitas...
